Who: Everyone who is interested in delicious information about Thunder Corp.
Where: A meeting room in Emmanuel's church, same spot self-defense lessons are held
When: Thursday August 15th, around 5PM
What: A gathering of folks from the network to make plans and disperse information.
[Tamara had really hit paydirt when she got a hold of a particular email exchange. It had been a risky stunt on her part to infect computers at Thunder Corp but it had been worth the risk to get something this good.
Yeah, she was being a bit paranoid, but the whole comment about superpowers made her wonder just how much did they know about the people on here. The chances of a mole were small, but it was present. And like she told others, it did not good to have this information if they didn't act upon it and they would need resources and organization to do so. She didn't like speaking before large groups, but something had to be done. She had stopped by earlier to provide Emmanuel the information for anyone who couldn't make it that may show up throughout the day, then she'll show up later to give it out to the general group that was coming.]
[OOC: Going to have a few threads here. Stuff for mingling before and after the meeting and the meeting itself. Also a sign in thread so that the muns can track who was here and just note in it if they showed for the meeting or came by to get the info from Emmanuel even if they don't do anything more than get the info. The only required bit of info to give is going to be their number, names and such are optional. And since it was suggested that we get an idea of what people can contribute, that will also be included in the sign in thread.
Assume another post went up giving the time and also mentioning that Emmanuel would be around most of the day to relay information while he did paperwork so people knew when to come.]

[ he lifts his head, but only just enough to free his hands, which splay in front of him in frustration. ]
We really don't know shit. That's why we're here -- to get some things straight, hopefully.
no subject
[ okay she missed that one mother of christ. i mean it's not like it's hard to miss things on the network, there's just so much on there.
but that does not make this okay. aliens??
oh whoops, she stopped listening after a little bit. reaching up to rub at her nose, she looks ahead again ]
...you seem pretty calm about all of this. [ a little stunned before, but he looks like he's accepted what he's seen. does she? because she doesn't. ]
no subject
because he's answering her questions about thunder corp, he also misinterprets her next question.
he slouches back into the seat, feet sliding forward a few inches. ]
I've been in this clusterfuck since April.
no subject
[ it seems like a long time for things to have been happening and for her to not have noticed, because it seems like it could be a really big freaking deal.
a week ago everything was fine.
she hesitates a little. ]
You're still with the ambulatory services, aren't you...?
no subject
[ he straightens and looks at her, a sudden edge in his posture and his tone. ]
Why?
no subject
no subject
Yeah, I switched to nightshift a while ago. Just like a vampire, haha...
[ ... so much for avoiding that. ]
I should give you my number.
no subject
[ his laugh, no matter how short, doesn't make her feel any better, and she stares at him.
busted?
she looks away again briefly, fingers rubbing over her helmet, agitated.
the statement brings her eyes back to him and she doesn't seem so sure about it, but she nods finally. ] Yeah. Yeah, I think you should.
[ because what if something else happens? she doesn't have many friends- not a fact she's lamented before now. and if he's seen the same thing as her, there could be other things.
but what if she sees more because of him? ]
I don't have a phone. Not a smartphone I mean, but a landline... oh, but I have a tablet...
no subject
Really? How do you call us all the time?
[ 'us', in this case, being 911. ]
no subject
[ she stares back at him as though surprised he hadn't thought of those ]
no subject
but his surprise falls into conversational curiosity. ]
Why's that?
no subject
[ ie: she doesn't want her brother or her father phoning her all the time and likes to be able to conveniently ignore messages on the answering machine. ]
no subject
hnngh. ]
Sounds like you value your privacy a lot. So here-- do you have a pen? I'll give you mine, but you can keep yours. Fair?
no subject
[ it's a concession. despite the initial horror and the implications of what just happened, she's curious. she's still stupidly curious. so she searches through the sling bag at her hip, pulling out a miniature pen and the back of a piece of paper- a receipt or something by the looks of it- and hands them both to him. ]
...so everyone like us. Are they- do they know us, too? Will they know I said that?
no subject
they shared a memory. he wants to hold onto that-- to hold onto the concept, the idea-- not necessarily reilanin (he doesn't know her well enough), but the connection. ]
Said what?
no subject
at the question she stares at him a moment, and then scowls at him in a very how could you forget sort of way
because really, how could you?? ]
no subject
uh??? ]
... What? That you don't have a phone...?
no subject
what kind of stuff do you have to be involved in that this is not kind of a huge deal ]
The echo.
We don't all know each other? No one else is going to- going to look at me and know that, are they?
no subject
what echoahhh, ok, now he understands. he'd been on a completely different track of thought. ]
No, I don't think so. There's some of us with memories from that kinda past-looking place like you and me, and then there're others who are definitely from futuristic places.
I think-- I think some people are... from the same time or place or [ vague hand waving motion ] you know. You're the second person I've seen.
no subject
[ her voice goes a little higher, but at least she manages to keep it between them. her eyes widen a little and she glances out briefly at the increasing number of people coming in ]
W-who...?
no subject
still not thinking about the topic of their conversation in that memory, though, nope. later. ]
My roommate. He's not he--re...
[ no, that's incorrect.
ravi isn't from the same time.
he isn't from the same time because he saw catherine die one way when alex had been told by him that she had died another.
he leans further back into his seat, bringing his hand to his mouth. it's his left, and on his ring finger, that plain metal band he'd gotten almost two months ago, two weeks before catherine died here.
he presses down on his bottom lip, then drops his hand back to his side. there's a subtle shift in demeanor, a closing in. ]
No, nevermind. You're the only one.
no subject
[ but there's something about the way he reacts that has her stopping there. she watches him a moment, but he's not really looking at her anymore, he's not really involved. she didn't notice the ring, or if she did, it seemed a non-issue.
she glances aside again. is he lying? she can't really tell. ]
...okay.
[ it doesn't relax her, but it puts her in a better frame of mind to listen to what needs to be said. she can just... box it up and put it aside. ]
...is that all you know about me?
no subject
she's a werewolf, she said.
she eats humans, she said.
are one of those wolves her? are they both? ]
Yeah. I've had a few, but this is the first time you were in one. [ he glances askance at her, offering a weak smile. ] Sorry it's a shitty one?
no subject
[ it seems almost rhetorical- she doesn't really look like she's expecting an answer. it seems strange to think she could expect any good echoes for herself after that.
if she gets anymore.
oh god. she's going to get more.
her lips press together again. ]
...thanks. For this. [ she's taken up the piece of paper and her pen, and she gestures briefly with the former ] Um, I... look. Here. [ she tears a piece off and writes down a number- not a phone number, but a network number. it comes to mind quickly, which is in itself unnerving. ] If you remember anything else about me. And I'll do the same?
no subject
reilanin handing her number to alex genuinely surprises him. hadn't she said she didn't like being accessible 24/7? then again, it's not like she'd see anything until she chose to view the network.
he certainly isn't unhappy with her choice.
taking the ripped piece of paper, he looks at it, then slips it into the pocket of his jeans, nodding. ]
Yeah, of course. [ unless it has to do with dietary habits more questionable than his own. thennnnnn maybe he'll keep it to himself... ]
