WHO: Toushirou and Bakura
WHERE: At that delightful little snake statue in the Dead District.
WHEN: April 14, afternoon
[Find some other reason to be there. Bring a friend. Well, one out of two isn't bad, right? If anyone asks, he's just taking a shortcut home. Which is of course a blatant lie, but he can pull it off. As for bringing a friend?
[Yeah, right. Like he has an extensive supply of those. And like he'd put any of the ones he does have in danger like this. Going by himself is absolutely safer for everyone concerned. Nevermind he doubts he'd have gotten the advice to do even that much had the person on the other end of the network known he's a middle-schooler. There's a reason he's avoided mentioning his age. They'd try to keep him out of it -- and he wants to understand.
[He looks about as inconspicuous as any well-kept kid can look in the Dead District, and from the looks of things isn't drawing too much attention. Good. All according to plan. Of course. Just like approaching that statue isn't conspicuous at all.
[There's a sudden impulse to back away. Does he really need to do this? If he needs to understand, aren't there other ways? Maybe he shouldn't get too close to this thing, after all.
[But then he stops, pulls himself together with a deep breath. The network has said that the statue has a repelling effect; that's got to be what this is. He just stands there a moment, regarding the statue suspiciously, trying to calm his suddenly elevated heartbeat.
[He can do this. He just needs a minute.]
