Who: Robyn Lyre and Danny Fenton/Later on Robyn and Melissa
When: July 19th
Where: Streets of Locke City/Melissa's Apartment
What: Superheroing right into a mob attack
Warnings: An adorkable girl is going to beat up. It's going to be terrible. ...Oh and I guess Danny's going to get hurt too. There's going to be violence.
Robyn had to admit, this whole superhero thing had been going pretty great so far. She probably hadn't done quite as much as she would have liked but she was doing what she could where she could and in the end, isn't that what Christmas was all about?
With Danielle's help she was even able to get herself a new mask which she was wearing proudly tonight. A black full face mask with some curved red lenses at the eyes. Those paired up with her hood actually gave her a bit of a creepy and mysterious look. ...Or at least they would if she wasn't still as short and thin as she was.
The night was young and she was going to get to spend it with Danny doing heroic things, she wasn't sure if she could ask for anything more than that. Things just didn't get much better than that.
"So. Anywhere you want to go check out first?"

He reminds himself that hey, he's the one floating in midair here, and he's the one calling the shots on tonight's patrol, like a super cool official team leader. Yeeeaaaah.
"Just the usual--some streets around the Dead District. That's usually where I find the most muggers and stuff." That's right, he's cool and established enough to have a "usual" for patrol!
Oh, wait.
"Uh, we just gotta be careful if we run into any to not shove them through walls and stuff."
no subject
She isn't quite jealous about him being the one floating around though, they've been a few patrols now and she's kind of gotten used to it. She can even let him be the team leader because he's the one with powers and has been at this a little while longer than she has.
Plus she totally gets to look at his butt while he takes the lead."Dead District, got it." She'll smile in agreement but it takes her a moment to realize that he can't see that, so she'll give him an exaggerated nod instead. That nod will turn into a headtilt though at the second comment.
"Uhmmm? D-Cure Phantom? I can't shove people through walls at all."
no subject
He doesn't stop to address her point, but he does look back, looking surprised and...a little guilty?
"Oh, uh, right. I mean, that's just--it was a request. Someone asked me to stop shoving people through walls before handing them over to the police."
no subject
"Really? Who just asks someone to do that? A concerned citizen?" It seemed like a bit of an odd request, but it was pretty reasonable too. Who knows where someone could just get shoved into.
When Danny glances back, he might catch sight of a man in a suit tailing a little ways behind them. Though if Danny gives him much more than a moments notice, he'll turn and walk into a nearby alleyway.
no subject
It's when he's got his head turned back to look at Robyn as he answers her that he spots someone a little shifty following behind them. And he would've just dismissed them as a random person on the street, if he hadn't ducked into an alley as soon as Danny looked up and focused his eyes on him.
Something fishy is going on.
"Hey!" Danny shouts and starts flying back towards the alleyway. "What are you doing?" He gestures for Robyn to follow, along with a whispered "Come on!"
no subject
"...It wasn't my aunt, was it?" She doesn't really have a chance to think much more on the matter though as Danny takes off toward the alleyway behind her. She'll flip around but doesn't get a look at what he's after. Regardless she'll nod and give break off into a run to keep up with him.
As their attention is drawn on that man, a few others will emerge from another alleyway to slowly follow them.
no subject
"I asked you earlier, but you didn't say anything, so I'll ask again--what are you doing here?"
He might be laying it on too thick, especially if the guy is innocent after all, but as every second passes, Danny feels worse and worse about this. Especially because, well, the guy in front of him has started to grin, looking more relaxed than at all worried.
no subject
"Just delivering a message."
Robyn couldn't quite run as fast as he could fly and as such, she had fallen a little bit behind. Just as turned to join him around the corner she felt two sets of hands grab a hold of arms and force her a further into the alleyway. She let out a yelp of surprise and tried to twist out of the two thugs' grip but they didn't budge.
"U-uh-D-Phantom!" There was a pretty large twinge of fear mixed in with Robyn's usual nervous stutter.
no subject
Immediately, he whirls around and gasps at the sight of her held by two more thugs. They are absolutely in over their head now. Oh god. Danny swallows and makes himself look angrier than how freaked out he feels right now, and curls his fists as tightly as he can, trying to look as menacing as possible. He's not the best at intimidation, but usually his reputation handles it for him.
"Let her go, right now." He lets the threat hang unspoken. If these people have been in Locke for even a week, they must know of him, they must know of his powers and what he could do to them.
no subject
"Better idea, how about you quite with the floating and bring yourself down to our level for a bit?" The thug who lured them into this alley will suggest. He'll raise hand toward the other two thugs and Robyn as he speaks.
One of the thugs will let go of Robyn's arm, but the other will quickly grab a hold of it and pull both behind her back. It doesn't take long for the thug to bind her hands together with a plastic zip-tie right after that.
"Balls in your court, kid, it'd be a shame if your friend got hurt because you were too stubborn."
The thug will keep one hand on Robyn's shoulder while the other moves to pull down her hood and grab a fist full of her hair which causes Robyn to let out a surprised cry. The thugs will wait to see what Danny does before they make another move.
no subject
He holds his hands up in a placating, surrendered gesture as he slowly, gradually lowers himself until he's standing on the ground like a normal person. Which just makes him more nervous because now, on the same level as the thugs, Danny realizes he's at least half a foot shorter than all of them. It's a lot harder to feel in control when you've got people towering over you like this.
"Alright, I'm down here. Just--don't hurt her. Okay?"
no subject
Robyn couldn't say she had ever really taken a beating before, it certainly didn't take much more than that to make her crumple to the ground, gasping for air as the kick had knocked the wind out of her.
"Wont hurt her much, that is."
no subject
"We are going to hurt you, though." He says with a grin.
Danny doesn't get a chance to react before the guy's fist lashes out and strikes him across the face. He stumbles to the side and, while he's still off balance, finds himself being kicked in the gut, followed by his face being smashed down against the man's knee.
It's as though even his reactions are too slow--every blow is so painful and forceful that he can't even think of what to do next, much less act on anything. He feels like (and for all intents and purposes, is) a rag doll in the hands of this thug beating him to bits.
He gets a short break to catch his breath (not like he needs it) and looks up. His face is partially indented from the hit, his nose concave and beginning to bleed bright green down his lip.
"Eugh, so that's what you look like inside, huh? How's about we find out even more?" says the thug.

Sometime later! After Danny's post.
But after long uncomfortable silence, she decided it might be best to change out of her dirty and banged up "superhero" gear and put on her regular clothes. She reached over for her backpack that she usually kept hidden while she was out gallivanting about at night but had picked up before her and Danny made their way here.
Maybe if she crept away to the bathroom, Melissa would just forget she was here and in a heap of trouble.

But it doesn't look like she's done yet. She looks up the second Robyn moves, frowning. "And where do you think you're going?"
no subject
"Ow-ow-ow. I was just...Just going to get to changed... Assuming that's okay?"
no subject
"That's fine. I hope you know I'll be throwing that out once you get out of it, though." It's pretty much ruined anyway, and Robyn doesn't need the excuse.
no subject
"Don't throw out all of it. I... some of this I got from echoes."
no subject
no subject
"...Okay." And with that she started off toward the bathroom with a noticeable limp in her step.
no subject
"What's wrong with your leg?" she asks, getting up and moving over to her, bending down in hopes of getting a look, "If it's injured, Karl could have healed it while he was here..." Robyn just didn't say anything.
no subject
"I... I got kicked a few times, th-that's all. It's not that bad." The pained expression her face was a pretty obvious indicator that it was worse than she was trying to make it out to be.
"I didn't know he cou-" she stopped herself mid-sentence. She knew Karl could heal, she just hadn't thought of it.

After awhile she'll finish up in shower and step out of the bathroom. Whether she looks better or worse is a bit debatable though. The red t-shirt and black shorts she's wearing now do very little to hide her injuries like her costume did. There are more bruises on both her arms as well as a few harsh red marks on wrists from where the plastic tie that had bound her hands at one point had dug into her skin.
She'll quietly move toward the couch again, dragging her bag along with her as she moves.

Still, she hands the pack over to her niece, trying to get a cursory look to tell her where the bruising is the worst. "Do you have any cuts or anything?" she asks, "If you do, we need to clean those before you put the ice pack on it. Ok?"
