[Closed] Mugging's dangerous work

Who: Sheila and Melissa
Where: Shopping district
When: Just after sunset
What: Some muggers make a phenomenally bad choice of targets

It really was something to just have a day of relaxing shopping. No worrying about superpowers or aliens or upsetting memories. Sure, her budget's a little tight now that the school year's over, but Sheila was confident she'd make things work. She always did. Besides, Melissa had great fashion sense and was excellent company - it'd been way too long since she'd had another girl to hang out with like this.

They'd decided to hit one more shop, and naturally the easiest way to get there was a shortcut through a little alley. Even if she didn't have hands that doubled as plasma blasters, it wouldn't occur to Sheila to worry - she'd taken the side street a dozen times before.

"Oh, and while we're there, I totally need to pick up some more foundation. You wouldn't believe the rate I'm going through the stuff right now." She'd dressed in long sleeves and gloves, despite the nice weather.

One of the downsides of working in a male dominated profession was few girl friends. And, while Melissa could easily drag only Eugen and Nick with her, it's not quite the same. Sure, she may be more of a tomboy than her appearance lets on, but just hanging out shopping with a friend is still fun.

"God, I can believe it," Melissa says, glancing over at her friend, "That must be such a pain in the ass." She's not exactly thrilled about her new teeth, but at least they don't attract a lot of attention and are fairly easy to conceal. "Maybe we can find something that--"

"Hold it right there, ladies," a voice behind them sneers. Melissa stops, sighing as she turns to see several muggers. She almost completely ignores them, turning to look at Sheila with the most deadpan expression she can muster. "Really?"

"Friends of mine would at least be funnier," Melissa sighs, looking back at the muggers in front of them. She has to deal with this kind of shit at work all day, she didn't need it on her off-hours.

"Ok, boys, we're not going to even bother with the badge right now," she mutters, reaching into her purse and pulling out not one, but two loaded pistols, swinging her purse over her shoulder to free up both hands and pointing them at the criminals. "I suggest you all drop your weapons and back the hell off, I don't particularly feel like making a trip down to the station with all of you."

Melissa doesn't blame her. Seriously, these muggers have the worst pick in the world. Sure, they're two women out shopping, but one of those women had blasters built into her and the other was a vampire cop who could dual wield pistols.

The cop is already quite done with this, guns still raised and looking very annoyed. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," she says, staring the clearly weaker-willed ones down, "Bluffers don't go around carrying two guns in their purses, know what I'm saying?"

The two that had looked nervous before take a step or two back, but the one who'd tried to spur them on is having none of it. And, because the one with the guns probably looks more dangerous at the moment, he'll charge towards Sheila.

Melissa doesn't blame them for backing away. Hell, even though her guns are still raised, she's looking over at her friend in disbelief. She recovered temporarily to jerk her guns at the remaining two, who take the hint to get the hell out of there while they still could.

Once they're gone, Melissa drops her arms, shoving her guns back in her purse. "Well that was damn impressive," she said, offering Sheila a bit of a smirk, "That new, or have you always been able to do that?"

Melissa grins right back, shaking her head a little. "Damn. If they taught that kind of thing in kick-boxing, you'd have a new classmate." At least there are some not terrible echos to balance out the crappy ones. "I'll text someone to see if they want to pick this guy up, but even if they don't get here in time he might be a little wiser about what he's doing."

"I'd probably feel more sorry for him if I didn't deal with idiots like him all day," she sighed. Though really, he should probably be grateful he didn't run into one of the kids... some of them were brutal.

"Well, the police are already here, but I get your point." Melissa grins, zipping up her purse so the guns are concealed once more. "Come on, let's go."

"Looks ok to me. You pulled that off without breaking a sweat, as far as I can tell." Still, it's probably better to cheek, looking down to make sure the guy doesn't get up. Once she's done, they can go.

"I'll keep that in mind," Melissa chuckles with a shake of her head. Well, off they go! What are the odds that they'll find something cute for Sheila that covers enough of her skin...?
