Who: Misato Katsuragi and Abby Perkins
When: May 4th, afternoon
What: Misato and Abby hit up the indoor ice skating rink downtown.
Where: Downtown Locke
Warnings: None.
Misato Katsuragi has a sports car. She has thrown more money at this vehicle than she did at anything else she's ever owned in her entire life. There is probably no item in her possession that she's ever had in her entire 23 years that she's ever loved as much as that vehicle.
So naturally, one would think that she'd be careful with it. That she'd obey all traffic regulations, drive the speed limit, and maintain a safe distance between her vehicle and the one in front of her.
Not the case with Misato Katsuragi. She's speeding through town at ten over the speed limit, weaving into one lane, and then into another with the hopes of reaching her destination in reasonable time.
It's six minutes past the arranged meeting time when Misato pulls up to the bus stop where she agreed to meet Abby. The aurburn-haired girl is already standing there when she hitches the passenger side door open.
"Sorry! Get in. Am I real late?"

sorry for the delay!
Today was one of those days where the girl couldn't bring herself to get up and be productive. Of course, it was a Sunday, she just wanted to lay in bed and do nothing. It wasn't her turn to cook for her family, it wasn't her turn to do any of the chores either, she just wanted to just sleep into the late afternoon. However, as much as she wanted to do that, she couldn't.
At around one in the afternoon, with Abby still in bed, she suddenly remembered something! That's right, she had a meeting with Misato today! How could she forgotten about that?! Rushing as quickly as she could, she tried her best to get ready! She just just thankful that Misato was late too!
"No, you're fine! You're not the only one who's late though!" She said before getting in said car.
Re: sorry for the delay!
Truthfully, a month or two ago, Misato might have felt weird rubbing shoulders with kids almost a decade her junior. But given how many Numbered were under the age of eighteen, she quickly adjusted to the idea that she might just make more-than-a-few acquaintances who weren't old enough to drink along the way.
"Have you ever been ice skating before?" she asks. She waits for Abby to buckle in before she gets going -- and get going she does. "I haven't gone since I was about your age."

She said before buckling her seat belt on. Truth be told, Abby was wondering if this was the right thing to do. Sure, she told her father that she would be out for Sunday to hang out with her friends. While that was the truth, she wasn't exactly honest either. Oh well, hopefully they would never find out about it.
She shook her head. "To be honest? No, not at all! This is the first time I've gone ice skating but I'd like to see if I can try it out! There's a first time for everything right?"

"You'll have to be careful. It's kind of difficult at first. But it's definitely the sort of thing you'll want to do with your boyfriend. Once you get your bearings, anyway."
Misato flicks on her blinker, then turns.
"Did you ever finish that Dr. Phil episode? Did I miss anything mind-blowing?"
no subject
She gave a smirk. "Then that will be one of the first things I do when I get a boyfriend! Of course, only if he can handle the ice anyway, It may look nice and shiny but I can already tell that it's a harsh mistress! It will make you its..." Pause. "Well you know."
Then, there was a shrug. "Not really? It's just mostly Dr. Phil trying to get them to listen and nope! They might as well be putting their hands on their ears and singing to themselves! They didn't really learn anything!"

Misato pulls into the parking lot, which amazingly is not all that full. Apparently, people were more keen to enjoy the spring weather outside than the wintery weather within. Before long, the two girls are strapping on ice skates in the seating area just outside the rink.
"I really hope I don't break anything," she says, lacing up her skate. "I don't think there's much call for models with broken bones." Not as far as she knew, anyway.

Either way, now that they were at the rink, the younger girl just stared at the ice rink. At first, she thought it would be a good idea! But now? Given how big it was? Perhaps this might not be the best idea. And besides, she wasn't getting any echoes just yet.
"W-Well, you never know! One day they would need one with broken bones and you'll be up there for the job!" Don't mind how scared she sounded right now. Nope, not at all!
no subject
"You ready?"
And if Abby is, Misato leads the way onto the ice, letting one foot fall to the rink, and then another. Immediately, her hand reaches out for the rink's barrier on the edge -- just so she can be sure she doesn't fall over. If they say the same thing about ice skating that they say about bike riding, then she's got nothing to worry about, right?
Misato turns and offers Abby a weak smile.
Maybe this wasn't the greatest idea after all.

"I guess so?" She shuttered as she took small side steps. So far, everything was okay and she hoped to keep it that way! However, she could feel herself about to fall on the ground any minute.
For a split moment, she also gave a small smile back at Misato but at the same time? With her eyes off the ground? There she goes on the floor!

Unfortunately, Abby had no such benefit. Misato's eyes go wide as the girl topples to the ground.
"Hey, are you okay?" she asks, extending a hand to the aurburn-haired girl. "You didn't hurt yourself, did you?"
no subject
"Y-Yeah, I think I'm okay...I just wasn't paying attention! I didn't realize how slippery the ice really was! It really is a harsh thing to anyone who doesn't know how to skate! How do you do it?"
She said before pointing at her. "You seem to be doing just fine!"
no subject
"This is why you need to get a boyfriend. At least if you fall over, you fall over holding his hand. You could probably use him as a cushion when you fall, too."
no subject
However, there was another pause. "But yeah, I think...I just got an echo a moment there..." And it was with someone else again too.
no subject
"Oh?" Misato's interest piques at the mention of an Echo. "A good one, I hope!"
no subject
But anyway! Echoes!
She gave a nod. "I think so! I remembered ice skating with someone but...that's about it though?" That and there was that feeling she knows this person but who were they anyway?
no subject
"Well, I guess that's something. You don't remember who that person is, do you?"
no subject
Probably not but as she hold on to the rail, she could feel herself slipping again! "But until then...! I should probably need to start skating somehow!"
seems like a good place to wrap this up!
Misato flashes a smile at Abby as she pulls her arm away from the rail. She moves one leg forward, then the other, as she begins to glide across the ice.
She glances back at Abby for just one fleeting moment.
"Just keep moving forward, okay?"
Seems good to me!
Slowly, step by step, she extended her arms away from the rail before there was only one hand holding to said rail.
"W-Well, if you say so..." She mumbled before trying to move forward. Will she fall again? Who knows but at least she's trying!
