Idiots took me right out of Locke and away from just about everything to put me off in rural New Jersey. I should've been here to help you people save the city. Instead, I get to come into town again and immediately get a massive headache.

And now there's people in Vegas to start investigating over there. I should've gotten in on that, too. But nope.

Someone help me catch back up already.

Not yet. Just a few useful effects that can shift battlefields.

Wait, what do you mean shift battlefields? That seems like a pretty big deal.

Wide area effects. Force your foes to move like you want them to, by virtue of "Here the earth be beating the hell out of you".

So you learned how to move the earth, huh?

I can only create one specific effect with it. That's just one of the spells I have, though. I'm hoping that if I get back into investigating more of the weirdness, I can get more of them back together. Maybe even learn this collar enough to start making new spells!

Oh, okay, cool. I'd still like to see it in action one of these days, if it would be safe for you. Maybe I can learn something from it! Who knows? Anyway, do you think you could really make up your own spells? What would you do, if you could?

Well, the stuff I'm learning so far is elemental magic. There's gotta be new tricks off of that.

Oh man, what if you tried making one of those fire devils that they have in Australia? A tornado, except it's on fire. It's always been kind of terrifying to me, but knowing that someone I trust is in control of it would be pretty cool.

Well, I should let you know one thing I do know is a possible issue. Income requirements to adopt are a thing, because even for a kid who knows how to live as a borderline hobo, there's costs. Fortunately, I have most of my stuff, but...

That makes a depressing amount of sense. I work for the city, so I pull down a decent amount of money, and Rae's a famous author... I mean, we can afford a pretty big place. I'll look more into it, though. Thanks for letting me know.
