uuuuuugh
got in a big stupid fight with my dad
I dont even really know what it was about
just... like
I can handle being a numbers person
and I can handle being a Precure
but having to do all that and still having to deal with like real life and schol and shit
I dunno man it stresses me out
and its not like I can just take a break from either one

bluhhhh im gonna go listen to some Ke$ha and lie down for a while
tell me about what kind of sweet loot you got from the numbers fairy or something
pianistofraielin: (Oh don't worry about it)

[it is SUPER STRESSFUL, especially when you add A-student + football team + drama club on top of it, so Russel can relate. but let's not mention his own stress. this is Annie's post.]

it takes to adjust to that kind of thing, but you'll find the right balance between it all eventually.

which kesha albums do you have? [BECAUSE GUESS WHO CAN TALK ABOUT MUSIC FOR HOURS]

have you heard any of the stuff on cannibal? "we r who we r" is actually pretty good. [no qualifier. he doesn't mean 'pretty good for Kesha', he means actually pretty good.]

what else do you listen to?
pianistofraielin: (Neat!)

she's really popular in the uk, she just came back from a hiatus to start recording again. she's got a lot of good stuff and she writes some pretty smart songs. lots of social commentary actually

hang on let me find something

here, the big single from her last album
pianistofraielin: Oh, Mama Pandora, what a character! (And that's when she poisoned me!)

everything!! i think there's something of value in every genre!

lately i've been listening to a lot of stravinsky because one of my pulsechoes was about the firebird suite and i want to see if there's anything else there. but i like a lot of the classics like louis armstrong, johnny cash, aretha franklin, freddie mercury...
pianistofraielin: (. . . ok then)

['old people music'......]
pianistofraielin: (Petrified)

['old people music']
pianistofraielin: (You are the worst!)

[personal profile] pianistofraielin 2014-02-04 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
ANNIE!! HOW COULD YOU SAY SOMETHING SO DISMISSIVE?! ARTISTS LIKE THESE ARE TIMELESS! THEIR CREATIONS ARE ENDURING CLASSICS THAT TRANSCEND SUCH ARBITRARY BOUNDARIES AS GENERATIONS!
pianistofraielin: (such tragedy as you cannot imagine!)

[personal profile] pianistofraielin 2014-02-04 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
THEY ARE MORE THAN JUST MUSICIANS, THEY ARE THE MAKERS OF HISTORY. DECADES FROM NOW THEY WILL BE STUDIED AND EMULATED, AND NEW ARTISTS WILL TAKE INSPIRATION FROM THEIR WORKS, AND THEY'LL BE REMEMBERED AS PEOPLE WHO DEFINED THE CRAFT. FREDDIE MERCURY IS THE 20TH CENTURY BEETHOVEN, ARETHA FRANKLIN ITS CLARA SCHUMANN.
pianistofraielin: (dramatic AH HAH!!!)

End

[personal profile] pianistofraielin 2014-02-04 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
TO CALL IT MERE 'OLD PEOPLE MUSIC' IS AN INSULT TO THE ENTIRE CRAFT, AND I WON'T STAND FOR IT!
pianistofraielin: (Seriously tho...)

you need to expand your musical horizons!

[personal profile] pianistofraielin 2014-02-05 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
the best way to introduce yourself to new music is to listen to what your friends like! obviously a mix tape is the perfect solution!
pianistofraielin: Oh, Mama Pandora, what a character! (And that's when she poisoned me!)
