Belief / Full Moon
Who: Alexander and Reilanin
Where: Alexander and Ravindra's apartment
When: 1/16, evening
What: Reilanin goes to visit, unaware Alexander is freaking out about the echo he received from Henry's power.
Warnings? tba?
She could feel it, imperceptible, beginning to itch beneath her skin. Tonight was safe- tomorrow would be the full moon. Lyall would not be there. Nick would not be there. No one had heard from Angela, as far as she knew- it would just be her and Hajime.
She tried not to think of it. There were a lot of things she was trying not to think about, and a small part of her wondered if that was a smart thing to do.
Not that she felt any of her decisions were smart, so long as they involved her leaving the house. Someone had mentioned working from home. It had been in talks at work, given how often she had been "ill" as of late. Simply a matter of time before they had an idea of how to shift her duties. Most of it could be done from a distance, she reasoned. Just a matter of time.
But today was not work. Today was to visit Alexander. She wondered if he tired of seeing her. Having such a small pool of people she felt comfortable speaking to herself, she certainly wasn't, but Alexander was an altogether different sort from her, much more sociable and outgoing, and she had already seen how things had changed with him since he had confined himself. It made her feel guilty that she did likewise in light of this, but being among other people was difficult.
Everyone just looked so good, and she was starving.
There was never very much traffic in the apartment. That was good. She knew who owned cats and who had a dog, who had also confined themselves to their apartment, who was rarely there. One apartment burned incense and she hurried past it quickly. She knocked on the door, going through her purse for a kleenex, pressing it over her nose with both hands, trying to keep her eyes from watering, to no avail. Another good reason not to go out. Smokers were an even greater nuisance now than they ever had been before.
Who: Hajime and Reilanin
Where: Lyall's house :3c
When: 1/17, evening
What: It's the full moon! :D
Warnings? tba!
She was very careful to keep an eye on the time. While it was still daylight, gone from work early, afternoon off, teetering between starvation and nausea, she made her way to Randolph's place. Would it be enough with just Hajime? It felt like too much, actually, but that was just because her pride and dignity had taken a good stab.
No big deal.
Garage? The room? She didn't like the idea of breaking anything in Randolph's room and it felt too much like trespassing. The whole thing felt like some huge invasion of privacy, but there wasn't much choice to be had in the matter. She had to be somewhere, and someone had to be somewhere with her, end of story. Hajime was to be her- what was that funny word Randolph had used, claviger? It still meant nothing to her. Not a bit of trivia from her own past, then.
She locked the door of the garage behind her, stripped, bundled herself up in a blanket, waited. Third time around, still no better. The itch was maddening, like she could just scratch away her skin. What if it never got better? Oh, she didn't know if she could handle that. The idea of it scared her more than anything else, the ongoing dread as each month approached, the anticipation-
At least she didn't have time to wonder what Hajime thought about the transformation. It seemed a little swifter than the first time, though no less painful. It wasn't long at all before the familiar angry snarls and slams against the door signalled the end of her transformation and recovery.

She hadn't had all of her strength returned to her just yet, but there was determination to spare and oh, she was a slippery one. She continued to squirm, more violently now, the feeling of claustrophobia making her even more desperate to escape his grasp.
no subject
The squirming, combined with the reflex to back off in case he'd hurt her, unfortunately caused Hajime to lose his grip on the werewolf.

That done, she lunged further into the alley, up onto a pair of garbage cans, knocking them both over loudly as she leapt off and over the fence.
Landing, she continued through the backyard, the frontyard, and onto the street. An oncoming car honked at her, tired screeching as she froze in front of them. She barked- a vicious, loud and echoing roar- and caused the man in the car to squeal and curl up as best he could in the driver's seat. She continued across the street, making for the walking paths, hoping to get lost and away from the noisy spiky bug man behind her.
no subject
At least he was polite enough to yell a "Sorry!" at the terrified man in the car as he chased after her.
no subject
Finding Hajime sitll behind her, she snarled and barked, even as she kept running, ducking behind a tree and strafing again. If he wanted to chase, she'd make it worth his time.
She was out. She was free. She was ecstatic.

Idly, he wondered if the wolf form he'd picked up from that Jack of Hearts card would do any good. Would she be more interested in picking a fight with another wolf than with a big bug? Did he want to risk that? The wolf-thing he turned into was covered in pointy bits, too, and he wasn't as confident in that form as he was the bug form.

She barked, almost mockingly, and soon enough it would become apparent that she was toying with him. A little bit of a wait here, a sudden burst of speed, ducking behind a tree, through some bushes, climbing up on top of the statue of the city's founder and leaping off at the last moment- all the while growling and barking at him in a way that quickly enough translated into catch me if you can.
A noise distracted her at some point, though- losing track of time, she heard the steady thump of someone running. Not a hurried pace but well-measured, deliberate. A jogger.
She took off in that direction.

Yet he picked up on the sudden change of direction. That wasn't what he was expecting. And he sensed...human. Nearby, there was a human. He'd have to try to get the jogger out of there first. Get to the jogger first. "Who the hell jogs at this hour, anyway?" he muttered under his breath as he tried to get to the poor unfortunate jogger first.

Not that there were usually monsters lurking about, but there could be any number of other things! She slowed slightly, head and ears swivelling about to find the best place to go, and snuck into some foliage, evergreen bushes that were still nice and lush even in the terrible winter weather.
The man seemed to have heard something, and was slowing down, jogging in place and glancing about, unsure yet if he should be nervous.
A growl made the decision for him. It was the sight of Hajime, however, that caused the man to shriek and turn to run away.
With a werewolf's equivalent of "goddamnit" she barked after the man and shot out of the bushes, chasing after him on all fours. Maybe if she killed him before she got caught, the bugman would just give up and let her have him...?

He wondered if he could catch Reilanin in another flying tackle. He was glad this bug monster form had a lot of endurance; he was pretty sure a normal human would have collapsed after this much of a chase.
no subject
Rei, however, was panting hard. A lot of energy, but not as much endurance, it seemed. Red tongue lolling out of her mouth, sharp teeth bared and the scruff of dark golden fur around her neck ruffled and raised, she let the man go and turned on a dime, facing Hajime instead. She charged and attempted to dash past him, though she seemed much less certain about her ability to do so now.
no subject
If she made it past the bugman's lunging grab, it would take him a couple of moments to get his big bulky bug self turned around in the right direction. He hoped it wouldn't come to that.
no subject
She pressed her front paws down on his arm to try and get it off of her. This was not what she'd planned!!
no subject
Really, anyone coming across them now might wonder just what sort of dog a horrible bug-thing might keep as a pet.

And sometimes she would fall quiet before launching into another full-out attack, trying to twist herself around to get at his face. And when that didn't work, she would howl.
How good is bugman hearing? Because she did it right in his ear.
Also, claws on the doorframe trying to go in.
no subject
When she howled in his ear, he almost loosened his grip out of reflex. The howl was met with a burst of Undead cursing; bugman hearing was good enough that the howl was quite unpleasant, thanks for that, Reilanin.
He was about to lose his temper at the claws on the doorframe. "Come ON! Just get inside! It's not like I'm stuffing you into a little plastic box to take you to the vet, it's just a HOUSE!" He dearly hoped none of Lyall's neighbors were out and about. Difficult to explain didn't begin to cover this.
no subject
Losing her foot on one side gave him a chance to toss her back in, however. She tried to grab at anything, leaving clawmarks on the wall as she dragged past and knocking over a lamp with her great, bushy tail, which she had whipping about in a bid for freedom along with the rest of her.
no subject
Man, and they were going to wreck Lyall's house again. He's now trying to herd her towards Lyall's reinforced bedroom, invasions of privacy be damned.
no subject
Whining and snapping she's shoved into the room, where she immediately begins to slam herself against the door before she sits back and begins to howl again.
No fun. No fun at all.

But at least Hajime would get a free meal out of it when they did.
