[Something seems different about Elly today. Even besides the new hat she's wearing.]

Hi, Elly here. I know that there's all sorts of important things going on, but I just need to get something off my chest. A dark secret that I've been harboring for years, but which I can hide no longer.

The truth is, I never wanted to go to med school, and will be leaving immediately in order to follow my true calling: Becoming a published romance novelist.

Yes, indeed, I've actually been writing my first book, titled The Red-Stained Lips of Passion. While the medical world will no doubt mourn the loss of this student, I am confident that my name will spread across the world of steamy, thrilling prose and all those who crave it.

Now, I will leave you with an excerpt from my soon-to-be-best-selling novel:

"Her words somehow found his heart. A heart he’d been so certain had vanished. She was a wise woman to be untrusting, but her wisdom had come from fear. Perhaps he should have let her go, but he needed to see her, to see deep inside the woman who had hypnotized him with her spirit. Nor was he ready to sacrifice this moment in which he suddenly felt so intensely for someone and it had nothing to do with sex.

All at once, nothing mattered to Blake but the new, irresistible yearnings within him. He felt as hungry as a newborn lamb frolicking in its first spring meadow, as ravenous as a bee sampling its first taste of nectar..."

[[In case there's any OOC confusion: This is not actually Elly, but is in fact Sara abusing her newfound shapeshifting powers. Credit to Lady in Red by Máire Claremont and Taming Kate by Eugenia Riley, from which the excerpt above was sculpted like some sort of harlequin chimera.]]

Well, I don't know much about writing... maybe cut that part about sex. That made me uncomfortable.

...Good characters, interesting plot, unique setting, and quality writing?

Also, I don't think sex is a verb....

...But aren't great works of literature more likely to make the bestseller list? Or the magazine with the book recommendations?

I don't remember the name.

But they do know what they like? Right? I mean, they should be able to tell when they like a book WITH quality writing.
