[Alex has the too-bright eyes, rumpled hair, and slightly manic expression of the feverish (the verging-on-delirious, in fact).]

Wow, my head feel-zuh really funny, nee. Like funny ha ha. Ha. Probably 'cause, cau-zuh, other-me had to have brain surgery.

Hey, I can grow extra eyes, eye-zuh, now! Who wants to see?

Nah, I don't need it. But oth, other-me did, so...

[It doesn't make as much sense anymore.]

I think I haven't had enough, nuff, sleep yet.

Well, you aren't full on alien, yet, so maybe it affects you differently? And yeah, I think you need more sleep. Because as cool as the eye thing sounds, probably not a good idea to do it right now.

Yeah, the problem was this thing-ing called a tria gland? And I guess it was sort of like an appendix, dix, only in other-me's brain? Because all it seemed to do was get inflamed, flame-duh, and have to be taken out.

That's a pretty dangerous appendix-like thing, man, let's hope you never get that. But the flu-thing, it'll go away like the normal flu?

It seem-zuh to be. I've still got a fee, fever and stuff, but at least I can keep the shifting-ing under control now.

Good, because I still want to see those eyes.

[Alex thinks they'll be easier than the tail with practice, but he still has to concentrate for now. The stalk eyes are like two fuzzy blue antennae, the eyes where the balls at the ends would be. Alex makes a face once they're fully formed, and closes his main eyes.]

I can see behind me with 'em, but I can't really coordinate, nay-tuh, them yet.

[He switches to audio for this, because it's easier to just say his reactions than write them down.]

Oh, man, that is something else! So you can still see when your eyes - uh, your first eyes - are closed? What's it like when you have all of them open?

Really, really, lee, weird.

[He opens all four, and sways slightly before closing the main pair again.]

Kinda like looking through a kaleidoscope, scoh-puh.

That can't be making your head feel any less funny, man.

[Alex giggles a little.]

But it's okay, kay, if I do like this. I think it'll be really awe, awesome if I can, like, train myself to see out all four at once.

We can try to work that into sparring practice, somehow. I may not know exactly how, but hey, we can figure something out.

I could grow the eye-zuh, and you could try to snee, sneak up on me!

I like it. Then I can try to work on my ninja skills at the same time.
