There's trouble in the Dead District -- more than usual. Those who live there are leaving. I can't be sure how much truth there is to this, but they are --

-- they tell me they're afraid of werewolves. I don't recommend believing every rumor we hear simply because some things previously believed to be impossible have happened, but a man came to the clinic today with a bite that he claimed was from a werewolf.

What do the rest of you think of this?

[Lyall gets the message on his computer, of course, like he gets most of the messages, even if he doesn't respond. He even opens up Word to reply back.

Except then he says the word "werewolves". And for a moment, there's no more computer. There's no more hands. All Lyall is seeing, for that one moment, is forest and fur and his own front paws. Except he doesn't have paws, so that should be all wrong, and it really isn't. It feels more real than sitting with his fingers over the keys. There's running, and howling, and hunting-- and familiar scents that say "friends" and "family" and "leader"-- and it only lasts for a few seconds, but it's more than enough to throw him off.

The reply that comes a good five minutes later is brief.]

Did anyone describe them? Or say where exactly they were?

No, I couldn't get a description out of them. Everyone was very insistent that it was a WEREWOLF, and VERY FRIGHTENING, but the number of actual attacks, as far as I can tell, are low. Most have the sense to run from the creatures.

I think I could tell you what a werewolf smelled like if I could get somewhere where they had been. That might not be much, but it's something to confirm what's going on.

[He's still shaken, but there's definitely a "werewolf smell" lodged in his brain now....]

I have the location of the attack. It was in an abandoned warehouse just north of the statue.

[Once he thinks he's good to drive again, anyhow. That was one doozy of a vision, as far as he's concerned. Not even the ghost one is topping that.]
