[So. Roy's not really a stranger to stress, but when your hair color changes out of the blue and you're suddenly plagued with memories of strange-looking space stations, it proves to have a profoundly negative effect on a person's sleep cycle.
The memories, at least, he could keep to himself. The white hair was considerably more noticeable. He attempted a weak excuse to his mother once she noticed, something about wanting a change, an excuse she accepted with obvious reluctance. Roy might have been a problem child in his past, but that didn't mean he enjoyed lying to his mother.
At the same time, he couldn't believe she would accept the truth of it being caused by his idiot stepfather giving him a glass of tap water and Roy drinking it down in an equally idiot move.
He's been avoiding any physical contact with his two close friends since it happened, but Roy knows he can't do this forever. Therefore, after (yet another) night of not being able to sleep at all, he rolls over on his side to grab his phone and send the both of them a text.
...At 7AM on a Sunday, because what is waiting for a reasonable time for teenage boys to be awake.]
Hey, guys.
I need you to come over when you can. And Vaughn, would you spare a hoodie or something for a while? Bring one, if you don't mind.

Hey, guys.

I don't remember much, really. Maybe it was even just a fever dream...I don't know. I just recall some sort of...space station.
On the moon.
[He didn't see where it was located, not necessarily, but...it was just an innate sense of knowing.]
no subject
[...O K then.]
I guess... seeing as we're being attacked by aliens and all, it's not that far-fetched.
no subject
He shakes his head, frowning. Aliens. Right. They should probably look into how aliens might be on the moon.]
What did the moon look like?! What color was it? [is what he blurts out instead.]
no subject
What...color? [His eyebrows furrow in confusion. What a strange thing to ask.]
White, I guess. [...No. No, that didn't seem right. It looked white, certainly, but that wasn't the right word. It was more...]
No...it was silver. The Silver Moon. [The Silver Moon. As opposed to a silver moon. The distinction seemed important, as if there was more than one, as if even words themselves carried weight and significance.
What sort of significance, exactly, he couldn't tell.]
no subject
Silver or white - is there actually a difference?
no subject
He uncrosses his arms, gesturing vaguely.] I remembered different moons and they were all in different colors! There were six of them. And...
[And he can just... No, he does remember. He remembers visiting the Silver Moon, actually being there.
Eyes widening in realization, he continues,] I remember it, too, Roy. The space station!
no subject
...You do?
no subject
You do?
no subject
I went there. It was on the Silver Moon, not any of the others...
[A pause and... he grins!] It was like something out of a sci-fi movie!
no subject
...Really quiet for a sci-fi movie, though.
[Sterile, even. Isolating]
no subject
I'm lost right now. Are you guys... seriously just remembering this now because we're talking about it?
no subject
[He turns to look at Akito, his grin more embarrassed than anything now.]
Heh, looks like it! I just remembered the moons before this, not the space station!
no subject
...There were six moons. All different colors.
They were important.
no subject
[This is actually kind of weird to witness.]
What kind of important?
no subject
I don't know, [he says slowly. Yeah, it's definitely not coming to him just yet.] I don't remember that yet.
[Emphasis on yet.]
no subject
I don't know either. [But he can feel it, almost. A sort of reverence and respect associated with them.] Maybe religious?
[It's as good a guess as any, he supposes.]
no subject
[Kind of random, but...]
no subject
We didn't both have our hair turn white!
[Sorry not sorry, Roy.]
no subject
Better than more weird mutations. [He nods in agreement]
For now.

[He huffs, then grabs the pillow, putting it down on the desk.] Or a big sword! You can fence already.
no subject
A sword, huh? That's probably the last thing I need around here. Mom already thinks I'm in the beginning stages of delinquency.
[The unspoken word there is again.]
no subject
...But it'd still be cool.
[Akito meanwhile is just happy they've managed to stick to these topics.]
no subject
...Still, he's gonna have to back Akito up here.]
Your mom doesn't have to see the sword though! And she'll get used to the hair...
no subject
[Roy may have a difficult time with his stepfather, but his dependence and affection for his mother had always been strangely intense for an American college boy.]
